Licenses should be reduced

Filtering whose exact execution could have supported domestic businesses against sites and businesses outside Iran, now has become a burden to domestic website.

Ecosystem activists say that criminal and immoral content is the cause of filtering, not businesses with young founders who don’t have a goal but money making and employment. Mostafa Amiri, co-founder of ZarinPal is against filtering businesses.

Here are the details of what Amiri has said.

• One of the businesses in FinTech that is your field has become filtered. What is the consequence of such a thing in your opinion?

Most businesses in financial field are platforms that allow others to use their services and in this area a value added would arises that wasn’t before.

We don’t provide any product and are only the basis for providing services of companies to their customers. When businesses similar to us face a problem, customers would suffer at first hand.

Financial businesses, especially credit and their branding and the nature of their business are very important.

Thus when they are filtered, we can say that retaliation order is executed for them and any effort for regaining the credit that is lost is like we want to revive a dead body.

I think that we can look at things with a wider view. We are user-driven businesses and even rules of user-driven businesses can be used for startups.

• How much would the lack of individual and known trustee in this field contribute to these problems in your opinion?

We are facing multiple trustees that each one has its own rules and each one wants to be the one and only trustee in this field. But the main problem is that we look at everything as a license.

Involvement of different organizations to issue a license finally leads to current horrible happenings and each person wants to issue its own license.

Licenses that are increasing every day which leads to multiplicity in the ecosystem at the end.

I don’t say that online businesses don’t need a license but it’s better that the organization that issues a license is from startups themselves and knows the rules and regulations of this field.

There is trust logo across the world. But we should know that the credit of symbol of E-trust is gained from startups.

For example, DigiKala puts this symbol on its site and gives it credit and this becomes the reason for customers to trust.

In fact, E-symbol has gained its credit from credit of online businesses and it’s not that E-commerce development center has done something to make it credit.

Thus in any way each license and symbol gets its credit from this field.
