Legal issues are something that startups are less likely to pay attention to these days, but getting to know them is essential to running any business.
Founded by Mohammad Hossein Amiri, Farshad Hassanzadeh and Mahsa Jannatizadeh, Vindad is trying to take a step towards clarifying the legal issues of businesses and making access easier in this area.
Mohammad Hossein Amiri is the cofounder of vindad and holds a bachelor’s degree in financial management from Azad University. He says:
“We were closely involved in the problems that startups had in the legal field, and we felt there was a gap in that area and something needed to be done.
So we decided to provide a platform to deliver legal services to businesses and startups online. ”
What is the difference between vindad and other sites that provide legal services online?
The most important feature of vindad is that we specialize in business and business law. In other words, we do not deal with legal issues related to family, property, etc. In other words, startups, businesses, etc. are our target customers.
Explain more about the services you provide in Windows?
We generally offer six services; our first service is a contract bank, which includes a sample of applied contracts that a business needs.
Contracts such as employment contracts, investments, software sales, and more. There are currently 40 sample contracts.
The second service is a dedicated contract setup according to the needs of businesses that are set up online by our team. The third service is contract review and modification. When businesses have a contract, they want to make adjustments.
The fourth service is legal advice, which is done by telephone, online and in person, covering different areas such as insurance, tax, intellectual property and investment, and so on.
The FAQ section is also on the site where businesses can find answers to their questions. Our fifth service, which is unique in Iran, is the patent and idea in America that we pursue with our partner in America.
Our last service, which has been on the market for several weeks, is an intelligent appraisal system whereby we give a comprehensive analysis of market to a person who wants to start a business, by answering a series of questions.
What is the average cost of using these services for businesses?
The prices for the services are different, but we offer legal packages to businesses which include these services.
For example, businesses can get 10 types of contracts by paying 600,000 Tomans for 6 months, receive 30 minutes of monthly telephone counseling, and receive a 30% discount if a contract is needed.
600 Businesses have used services that include both large businesses such as Tosan and small businesses and startups
How much lack of legal knowledge can damage startups, and how much can startups like you help overcome this gap?
Damages do not seem to have started yet, as the age of the ecosystem is low and legal damages are slowly emerging.
But in general, in areas such as investment contracts, the damage will be greater, as startups usually sign these contracts without consultation.
Investors tighten the deal through their lawyers. The field of employment contracts is also one that can create problems in the future.Partnering with the founders is another issue that will lead to disagreement.
Generally speaking, since legal services are expensive in Iran, startups usually prefer not to go for legal services and we in Vindad are going to solve this problem to make it easier for startups to use legal services.
During your one year in the market, how did you evaluate the market and how do you think the culture of using legal services in startups has become?
The culture of usage is slowly getting started, and from day one we tried to play a part in organizing legal workshops and seminars. We produce content and create free questions and answers to help startups understand what information is needed in legal discussions.
How many businesses have used your services so far?
600 Businesses have used services that include both large businesses such as Tosan and small businesses and startups. Even 40% of our customers are outside the startup ecosystem.
How much was your initial capital?
We started with about 15 million Tomans capital and then Avatech accelerator invested in our business . We can now keep up with the sales of Windows.
What challenges did you face during this time?
The main challenge is that our community is not familiar with providing legal services online, as it was traditionally provided so far and people were not used to receiving it online.
Another challenge is in fundraising, Because we are looking to raise capital. The lack of money in the last year in the ecosystem has challenged us a little.
